The opening of the Armstrong works to produce suspended ceiling tiles of mineral fibre has taken place on the territory of the Alabuga special economic zone.
It is planned to sell the works’ products all over the territory of Russia, and also in Belarus and Kazakhstan. The factory currently employs 136 people, As it comes into full production, this will increase to 200. The works now produces four types of product. By the end of the year it will be 15 types.
At present raw material is delivered both from abroad and from Russia. But every day the share from Russian suppliers increases. Eventually they will supply 100%. Costs will be cut by at least 15-20% by replacing foreign suppliers with Russian ones.
The American company Armstrong has been operating in Russia since 1993, but has not had its own factory here before. The production facility for mineral fibre ceiling tiles at Alabuga was Armstrong’s first enterprise in Russia and its 32nd worldwide.
