The construction of a new woodworking enterprise has begun in Kaluga oblast. The Turkish company Kastamonu’s factory in the Lyudinovo SEZ has a potential comparable with the woodworking factory started up by the company in 2014 in the Alabuga SEZ (Tatarstan).
At the first stage, it is planned to invest about ten billion roubles in a new factory for producing wooden panels. It is estimated that output capacity of the factory will reach 900,000 cubic metres of wooden panel products per annum at the initial stage. The factory will be on a 70-hectare site and will be intended for the production of MDF panels, wood chip board, oriented strand board and also wooden floor coverings.
The Kastamonu factory is on a 70-hectare plot. The enterprise will create more than 400 jobs directly in production and several thousand more in associated and servicing activities. The project is intended to be completed in 2018. The foundation stone laying ceremony took place on 28th May 2015.
The Lyudinovo SEZ is one of the most dynamically developing industrial areas in Kaluga oblast. Over a comparatively short period of time, it is planned to create all the conditions for convenient investment by both foreign and Russian investors. The total sum of investments declared by potential residents in this zone is more than 120 billion roubles, which will create more than 11,000 new jobs.
