The first impregnating line for decorative paper has been started at the Egger Gagarin Wood Product enterprise in Gagarin, Smolensk oblast. Thanks to this, it has become possible to carry out the full production cycle for laminated wood chip board. The line will be able to produce about 120,000 sq.m. of paper per shift.
The company’s main form of activity is the production of wood chip and laminated wood chip boards. About 400 people work at the factory, and another 500 specialists are employed in associated work within the framework of the company’s production and commercial activities.
The total sum invested by the EGGER companies in the project is more than five billion roubles.
In 2015-2016, the investor plans to start a floor covering production line, a press for making MDF, two laminating lines, a second impregnating line and also a mini thermal power station which will run on biological fuel.
