The first stage in assimilating the new opencast mine was started in the Maritime Kray on 22nd May. In Nadezhda region, not far from Vladivostok, work has begun on opening up the mine for the extraction of brown coal.
The investment project “Construction of an opencast coal mine and mining concentration combine with the aim of exploiting the Adams coalfield in the Maritime Kray” is being carried our jointly by the companies OOO Huafeng (CPR and OOO Rubikon (Russia) Over the first five years, the Chinese partners are investing 90,000,000 US dollars in the project, and the total amount of the investments will be 450 million dollars: 270 million from the Chinese investors and 189 million from the Russian ones.
The project is intended to be carried out in three stages: in the first stage the coal production capacity will be three million tons, and by 2026 it will reach its maximum of 10 million tons.
