The AIDA, an international non-profit organization established in 1960 to promote international cooperation in the development and harmonisation of insurance law, supported the changes to the status of the Russian national chapter. In July 2016 the AEB Board supported the request of interested members of the Insurance and Pensions Committee (Committee Chairman – Alexander Lorenz) to include issues related to the AIDA national chapter in the work of the committee.
At the VI AIDA European Conference on 3 November 2016 the AEB CEO Mr. Frank Schauff made this announcement and obtained full support from national delegates.
The AEB Insurance and Pensions Committee is actively involved in the discussion of legal issues related to the supervision of insurance companies on the Russia market, changes to civil legislation on insurance, and the protection of the rights and interests of international insurance operators on the insurance market in Russia. The work of the Russian national chapter will be based on the committee priorities and in 2017 will cover the following topics: legal aspects of insurance supervision, antimonopoly regulation in insurance, consumer protection of policyholders, and others.
The platform of the AIDA Russian national chapter platform is open for participation in events and discussions for companies, professionals, lawyers, students and PhD students.
The AEB expects that the work of the AIDA national chapter under European and international cooperation will make an important contribution to Russian insurance law.
