"Russian-Chinese EXPO" in Harbin opens up opportunities for networking with Chinese investors for private companies and through public-private partnerships as well. The seriousness of the event is demonstrated by the level of its organization by the Ministry of industry and trade, the Ministry of economic development, the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and people's government of Heilongjiang province, which is the main point of contact between business circles of the two countries. In particular, this province has become a source of about a quarter of all Chinese investments in 2015.
Besides the major infrastructure projects such as high-speed highway Moscow—Kazan, the construction of the railway bridge across the Amur and the development of gas occurrences there are many industries interesting for Chinese investors in Russia. We should not think that Chinese investors are interested only in large projects, and we must also offer them small and medium projects.
Agricultural projects, food production and construction sector are the most attractive objects of investment for investors from China. Now implementation of large-scale joint Russian-Chinese projects is being considered, eg.: production of milk in Primorye, construction of several milk farms in Tomsk, establishment of the Fund for development of agriculture in Tatarstan, agro-industrial cluster with the feed plant in the Omsk region.
The Chinese company agreed on cooperation in the sphere of housing construction in Primorye. Negotiations on investments in tourism and residential development in the Caucasus. The Chinese are funding the construction of сonvention and exhibition centre in St. Petersburg, a multipurpose centre " Huamin Park" in Moscow. The head of a major Chinese development company "Juicing Indie Han Kaifa" Zhang Pan Feng has recently visited Russia, and he expressed readiness to invest up to USD 1.5 billion in construction of both residential and commercial estate in Russia.
The important thing is to provide Chinese investors with clear and understandable investment proposals prepared according to international standards. A serious problem for foreign investors in Russia is that they often just don't understand what the offer is, and what are the prospects of the project as a business.
